WHAT IS THE DOUBLE CLEANSING METHOD?
The double cleansing method is a skincare routine that involves cleansing your face in two steps: first with an oil-based cleanser, second with a water-based cleanser.

This cleansing method is part of the Korean beauty skincare routine and is especially beneficial for those who wear heavy makeup or sunscreen on a daily basis, as it helps to ensure that all traces of these products are removed from the skin. It's also great for those with oily or acne-prone skin, as the oil-based cleanser helps to dissolve excess sebum and unclog pores. By using this method, the skin is gently but thoroughly cleansed in order to allow for better penetration of the nourishing and active ingredients in serums and moisturisers that follow.
STEP ONE The first step in the double cleansing method is to use an Oribi Organics Oil Pre-Cleanser. This cleanser helps to 'pre-cleanse' by dissolving and removing oil-based impurities like makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum from the skin. Our oil pre-cleansers are made with a blend of natural botanical oils which are gentle and nourishing for the skin.
The oil is applied to the face and massaged gently in circular motions to remove stubborn waterproof mascara, foundation, sunscreen, etc. A clean washcloth, soaked in warm water and wrung out is placed over the face to soften the oils and open pores. The oil is then wiped off. This may be done with the washcloth or with warm, dampened disposable cotton rounds.
STEP TWO The second step in the Double Cleaning method is to use a water-based cleanser. Our Hydrating Cleansers help to remove water-based impurities like sweat and dirt from the skin. They are made the old-fashioned way with naturally saponified botanical ingredients for a refreshing and hydrating cleanse. We use both African Black Soap and Castile soap as the base of our cleansers. Because they do not contain sulphates or detergents, they do not dry out the skin.
Our low-foaming Hydrating Cleansers are applied to the skin and then washed off with warm water and patted dry in preparation for the next step in your skincare routine. We recommend using our Hydrating Tonics next to drench the skin with our special blend of hydrating ingredients.
